The Commission’s Technical Secretariat has the power to analyze concentrations notified by economic agents, issue opinions on tenders, concessions or permits and participants; issue opinions and recommend actions promoting competition in regards to programs, policies, provisions or regulatory acts; conduct economic studies on competition conditions in markets; conduct trial-like procedures for cases of monopolistic practices and unlawful concentrations, as well as the second stage of procedures to determine barriers to competition, essential facilities or the existence of effective competition conditions in markets. It is also their responsibility to attest to voting processes, issue minutes and transcribe the Board of Commissioner’s sessions.
The following departments depend on the Technical Secretariat: Concentrations, Legal Affairs and Market Studies.
